SUNCOAST TANG SOO DO’s karate classes offer many physical benefits, but they also help you develop life skills, such as confidence, focus, self-control, and perseverance. In addition, our studio offers family discounts and additional incentives to encourage families to train together.

 

Tiny Tigers Classes 

Tiny Tiger Classes

Tuesday and Thursday 5 p.m. – 5:30 p.m

These classes cater to the abilities and attention spans of children aged five to seven. Students build character through learning basic martial arts techniques, muscle strength, balance, and cardio-conditioning. It is our goal to introduce young children to the positive benefits of martial arts and overall physical fitness. This specially created program offers a variety of activities that stress values, character, and fitness such as:

  • Balance and agility training
  • Basic karate techniques
  • Self-Defense
  • Respect and obedience at home and school

Youth Beginner  


Tuesday & Thursday: 5:30 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. 

These classes are for beginners and lower-ranking students aged 7 and older. They introduce basic karate techniques for students new to martial art training. Classes include the WTSDA’s traditional martial arts curriculum, self-defense, character development, and life skills training.  Our goal is to help students learn patience, concentration, respect, humility, discipline, and self-control. We enhance the lives of our students through personal development and achievement.

Youth Intermediate Classes

Tuesday & Thursday, 6:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

These classes are for students from age 7 and older who hold intermediate ranks. They are based on the WTSDA martial arts curriculum and focus on a wide range of subjects. They continue to learn Korean terminology, the History of Tang Soo Do and character development. Students holding these ranks are improving their basic skills and learning:
• Intermediate Forms & Techniques
• Proper Falling and Rolling
•Sparring skills

Free Sparring
Self-Defense techniques and application

Youth Advanced 

Tuesday & Thursday 7:00p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

These classes are for students from age 7 and older who hold advanced ranks. They are based on the WTSDA martial arts curriculum. They are expected to have firm command of all basic techniques and continue to improve their understanding of intermediate techniques. The class reviews all the beginner and intermediate rank material but focuses on:

Advanced Forms & Techniques
Advanced Rolls & Falls
Free Sparring
Self-Defense
Practical application of Techniques
Bo staff training

 Classes For Adults

Assault with club Hand to hand The team

Adult

Monday: 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday & Thursday:
7:45 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

These classes are for adults and older teens (15 and up). Classes teach traditional Tang Soo Do based on the curriculum of the WTSDA. Students learn all aspects of Korean karate including:

Hand striking and kicking
Hyung (Forms)
Proper falling and rolling
Sparring techniques
Free sparring
Self Defense techniques
Basic Hapkido
Weapons techniques and forms (rank appropriate)

Black Belt Classes

Monday: 6:15 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Black Belt Training

These classes are for Black Belt students of all ranks and ages. Classes teach advanced Tang Soo Do techniques, open hand and weapon Hyungs, advanced sparring, and self-defense. Students attend these classes through invitation only.
