SUNCOAST TANG SOO DO’s karate classes offer many physical benefits, but they also help you develop life skills, such as confidence, focus, self-control, and perseverance. In addition, our studio offers family discounts and additional incentives to encourage families to train together.

Tiny Tigers & Little Dragons Classes

Tuesday & Thursday
6:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

These classes cater to the abilities and attention spans of children aged four to seven. Students build character through learning basic martial arts techniques and overcoming rewarding challenges.

It is our goal to introduce young children to the positive benefits of martial arts. This specially-created program offers a variety of activities that stress values and character, such as:

  • Karate Games
  • Tiger & Dragon Flag Sparring
  • Self-Defense

Class Goals

Beginner Classes - Ages 7 and older

Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. 

These classes are for beginners and lower-ranking students aged 7 and older. They introduce basic karate techniques for students new to martial art training. Classes include the WTSDA’s traditional martial arts curriculum, self-defense, character development, and life skills training.Our goal is to help students learn patience, concentration, respect, humility, discipline, and self-control. We enhance the lives of our students through personal development and achievement.

Intermediate Classes - Ages 7 and older

Tuesday & Thursday, 6:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

These classes are for students from age 7 and older who hold intermediate ranks. They are based on the WTSDA martial arts curriculum and focus on a wide range of subjects like:

• Advanced Forms & Techniques

• Rolls & Falls

• Sparring

• Self-Defense

• Practical application of Techniques

• Korean Terminology

• Character Development

• History of Tang Soo Do

Advanced Classes - Ages 7 and older

Tuesday, 8:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Thursday, 7:30 p.m. – 8:15 p.m.

 

These classes are for students from age 7 and older who hold advanced ranks. They are based on the WTSDA martial arts curriculum and focus on a wide range of subjects like:

Adult Classes

Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Family Class

Wednesday 6:30 – 7:30pm

This class is an all ranks class to encourage parents to train with their children. It may also be attended by any student and used as a make-up class.

Black Belt Class

Monday, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  1st Degree Black Belts

Monday, 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  2nd Degree and above

Thursday, 8:15 p.m. – 9 p.m. – 2nd Degree and above

C.O.B.R.A. Skills Class

Tuesday 7:30 p.m – 8:15 p.m.

Taught by Certified C.O.B.R.A. Instructors, this class will teach and reinforce the techniques taught in our C.O.B.R.A. self-defense academies. We will drill all techniques allowing the students more time to perfect it.  If you’ve taken one of our C.O.B.R.A. courses and would like to continue training and practicing your techniques, or you are new to C.O.B.R.A., this class is for you.
